Looking back on the past year it has been a great year. Our merger has gone quite well. Our programming has gotten even better. Hardware failures have been minimal and our income from our generous donors has been excellent.
Our satellite dish has still not been reinstalled, however our connections to the Relevant Radio (RR) network has improved to the extent that the reliability is even higher than the use of a satellite dish. We still need the dish as a backup to our signal.
Our greatest need at this time is for a new Station Manager to replace Pat Crosby who will soon be moving to Arizona. We need a local volunteer who is either retired or is otherwise available during the day. We do have a radio engineer, Mike Hurst, who takes care of hardware failures. He has been with us for many years and is very reliable. Unfortunately, Mike is not local but we have very few hardware problems. We need a volunteer who is familiar with computers and is willing to put some effort into making weekly changes to the transmitter program on a weekly basis. It would also be helpful to record some shows such as Semper Fi and do some editing. Please contact me if you , or anyone y ou know, has an interest in taking over this position.
Please promote our free “Community Bulletin Board”. It can be a good service to the community plus increase our audience.
We are open to program suggestions at any time. Of course we have limitations as to when we can plug in our own programs; however, we are fairly open on weekends. We are encouraging you to be as active as you can in our broadcasting and Catholic evangelization.
If you missed a local show, take advantage of our local programming available for listening or downloading from Sound Cloud on the Internet. Type, or copy and paste, the web address below into your search engine and listen to some of the locally produced programs you may have missed or you may wish to hear again. https://soundcloud.com/wdtfradio1079. Pat Crosby has improved the site by adding a photo of our station and making the selection of programs much easier. Thanks to Sound Cloud you can sit at home and listen to any talk. Go to the website listed above and then stroll down to the Carols or Teri’s Tea Time talk as well as many of Father Leonard’s homilies and Father Jack’s Semper Fi shows.
Crosby, our station manager, is out of the hospital and home. Pat is
slowly recovering and has been at the station to do some recording and
to do some other work. Please continue praying for his full recovery.
Thank you very much for your continued support!
